Hey guys, how's it going today? Hopefully all is well. Okay, as I stated in a post a few days ago, I'm about to overhaul the Bose system in the Z. I have purchased an Alpine CDA 9886 head unit, a set of Alpine SPR-17C 6.5 inch front coax speakers (also ordered some front speaker brackets), and a 10" Infinity Kappa Perfect subwoofer (4 ohms??). I'm building a custom box for the sub. It's going to be built where it will house the subwoofer "upside down", and it will be hidden out of view, and wrapped in a nice vinyl or something. It's going to be modeled somewhat after what I have heard the JL audio stealthboxes were. Should I build a vented box?The mass of my questions and confusions revolve around the amplifier. Can the head unit power the speakers adequately? If not, Do I need 1 amp for the speakers and 1 amp for the subwoofer? Do I need a 2 channel amp, 4 channel amp? What watt amp/amps do I need? If you have a 500 watt 2 channel amp, does that mean that 250 watts go the to subwoofer, and the other 250 go to the speakers? What is all this "bridging" I keep reading about? Should a purchase a wiring kit that has the power wire, connectors, speaker wire, etc that I'm going to need? What all do I need? As you guys can tell, this is definately NOT my area of expertise. I've been searching stereo installs for the past couple days, and I'm still confused-- I need you guys' help! I welcome any and all knowledge, opinions, and suggestions. Thanks a bunch! -Woodman
